SEMINAR ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2024
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) instituted the World Environment Day
as an annual event in 1973, and it has grown to become a global outreach on environmental
issues. The World Environment Day 2024 comes up on June 5, 2024. The day is usually
dedicated to discussions, activities and programmes that draw attention to issues relating to
the environment. The theme of the 2024 World Environment Day is: LAND RESTORATION, DESERTIFICATION AND DROUGHT RESILIENCE. The Faculty of Environmental Sciences, a new faculty of Lagos State University is
determined to host a seminar to commemorate the day. The seminar holds at Lagos State
University, Epe Campus on THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2024 starting from 10.00am. The
seminar will be preceded by a Tree Planting Programme. Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tokunbo Philip
Wahab has been invited as Special Guest of Honour. The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Mayowa

The Lagos State University Directorate of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship (LASU-DSDE) in partnership with Karis and Eleos Hand of Hope Foundation will hold a 1-day training programme for One Thousand (1000) students of the University on valuable business and life skills such as; financial literacy, CV writing and Linkedln Profile master-class, project management, sales skills, negotiation skills, interaction and networking.
Karis and Eleos Hand of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Lagos State that focuses on empowering and enlightening women and girls, especially in rural communities, with minimal access to life-changing opportunities. In addition, the organisation is visioned to eradicate poverty and gender inequality through empowerment and quality education.
